Inkspill is a free online writing experience facilitated by awritersfountain over the last weekend in October.

I will be dipping in – will you…?

I went to my first Words@Wall event on Wednesday at Adelaide’s State Library to hear fantastic and moving pieces by Nigel Ford and Kerryn Tredrea.  These monthly free-to-attend meets are hosted by Friendly Street Poets and are a wonderful opportunity to get out there and heard.

Looking forward to the next one where my new poet friend Jennifer Liston will be strutting her stuff !

To celebrate mental health week (6-12 October), there have been a number of events and activities organised by the Mental Health Coalition of South Australia with the aim of increasing awareness and interest in mental health and wellbeing.

One such activity was the Open Your Mind Competition run by mindshare, an online mental health community, that invited submissions of poetry, short stories and blogs in a range of categories.

I found out earlier this week that I won the ‘Metro’ category with my poem Just like you, which will be turned into a piece of digital art, so watch this space!

Check out the latest edition of Sotto Magazine from Australian Poetry, edited by Donna Ward.

Australian Poetry is the leading body for poetry in the nation and Sotto is one of its regular publications.  I am thrilled to have some of my work in there for the first time since arriving in South Australia.
